CAC: Factions vow to make sacrifices for unity

In continuation of the reconciliation process between two factions in the Christ Apostolic Church-Supreme Council and General Executive Council, the two feuding factions have paid visits to each other at their separate conferences signalling gradual end to a 27-year old crisis.

This was disclosed yesterday by the President, CAC, Supreme Council, Pastor Gabriel Lagunju yesterday at CAC, Ile Aanu, Alasepe, Ikire, Osun State.

While speaking at the closing ceremony of the mission’s annual convention, he said his own side would stop at nothing to ensure that unity, peace which had eluded the mission for the past 27years returned.

The cleric said the crisis which he described as “very bad “had already been foretold by God but unfortunately, they all turned deaf ears to the warning.

As to the latest events concerning the peace process, he hinted that both parties exchanged visits during the just concluded conferences.

“We had taken several steps before which did not yield any fruit, but this time around, the steps we have taken show that the end of the crisis was very near.

“We visited the other side first to congratulate them on the conference and they too reciprocated the gesture by visiting us.”

They gladly received us and we too gave them warm reception. This crisis does not please God even though, it may profit any of the factions.

“We are ready to pay all costs for this church to be re-united. We have fixed another meeting immediately after the convention. I will call Pastor Akinosun after the conference to know where the meeting will hold”, he said.

On what the mission has lost in the past 27 years that the crisis lasted, Pastor Henry Ojo, River State Coordinating Council, said the mission had lost members, money and progress.

“ We have lost many things. We lost members, money and our young ones. Nobody wants to identify with us again as a result of the crisis. Some of our members have left us”, he said.
