You can't run the Church of God with worldly wisdom- CAC General Superintendent

CAC General Superintendent, Pastor S.O Oladele

The General Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide, Pastor S.O Oladele has said that worldly wisdom cannot be used to run the church of God.

Pastor Oladele stated this last weekend at the inauguration and induction service of CAC Vineyard of Mercy Districts Coordinating Council (DCC) Headquarters, Sabo-Yaba.

He noted that democracy cannot work in the church of God, it is the Lord that rule or govern His church.

He said that the worst judgement God can pass on the church is His withdrawal, saying that if the Lord depart from the church, such church becomes empty, ceremonies will continue but without Christ.

According to Pastor Oladele, there are churches Christ cannot dwell in because the planters of those churches believe it is their own, not God's own.

"Jesus Christ did not tell Peter that you will build my church, but I will build my church. It simply means nobody can build or run the church of God with worldly wisdom. The Puritans in their time said they are going to church not to meet the Pastor but to meet with Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, it is not like that today," he noted.

The church of God according to him must not be church-centric but Christ-centric, adding that the church is not a Julius Berger or Financial Institution, but a spiritual gathering.

He noted that when Christ is in the church, democracy cannot work because He is the head of the Church.

He continued that;"Democracy is the government of the people, by the people and for the people. When it comes to the Church, Christ himself is the head."

Pastor Oladele said that as a Christian and irrespective of who you are, it is possible to lose the spiritual virtues you have or your spiritual position in Christ, adding that the church of this day has lost his position through prosperity and adversity.

"Where are the churches Christ wrote to in the book of Revelation? The church can lose what it has through living in the past glory. My concerns about CAC of today is that are we not living in the glory of the past?" he asked.
