Pastor Gbenga Awe, the present Youth Coordinator of Christ Apostolic Church, Lagos Districts Coordinating Council (DCC) speaks with CAC NEWS on the annual youth conference of LDCC, advised the Youth Officer and Christian youths. Excerpt!

Kindly tell us about yourself

I am Pastor Gbenga Awe, an ordained Pastor in Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide. I am a senior Pastor of CAC, Mt. Zion, Oko-Ado via Ajah, Lekki District in Lagos DCC. I am also privileged to be the present Youth Coordinator of Lagos DCC with the Headquarters at the CAC, General headquarters, 28,Olowu Street, Ebute-elefun, Lagos.

Tell us about Your With A Purpose conference

Youth with A Purpose conference is a God-inspired and purpose driven one day free conference for the youths tailored towards empowering them to live a purposeful lives that will ultimately impact their future, families, the Church and the society at large. It is a yearly event which comes up at the beginning of every year and everything is free including feeding.

 

What really gave birth to the conference?

It is the vision of my immediate predecessor, Pastor Diran Olufowobi. And it is borne out of a desire to see youths maximizing, not just their latent potentials but also all godly opportunities that come their way in every year.

What are the feedbacks you got from people who have attended the previous editions?

The Lord has used the past editions to bless the youths tremendously and the feedbacks are very encouraging and awesome to the glory of God.

What edition is this year?

It is the fifteenth edition, 15th.

Give us full details about this year's edition

This year's edition has been packaged to spur more youths into living for excellence and avoiding anything that can tarnish their testimonies as Christians. The theme is "Living above reproach", taken from the admonition of Apostle Paul to Timothy, 1Tim.4:12. Christian youths should live above board; we must show to the world that greatness and success by righteousness is still possible even in the midst of prevalent pervasion. A season teacher of the world, Pastor Falodun will speak on the main theme, one of our brothers, Bro. Babatunde Ogundare will do a seminal on "21st century Christian and ICT". A breakthrough prayer session will be handled by me and there will be room for gifted youths to showcase God's grace on their lives I am sure by God's grace that it is going to be a highly rewarding conference. The kick off time is 9am and as usual both registration and feeding are free.

As a youth Pastor, what is your message to the youth of today?

My message to the Christian youths is that firstly they should have a friendly relationship with the Holy Spirit; they should be creative and embrace entrepreneurship. Develop godly character and choose friends wisely.

What is your advice to the CAC Youth Officer, Pastor Sam Gbuyiro?

 My advice to my oga is that he should allow himself to be led by the Holy Spirit, be loyal to the church leaders, be focused and courageous. Thanks
