The Regional Superintendent of
Christ Apostolic Church, Akinyele Region, Pastor Moses O. Yusuff has stated
that the CAC at all levels must go back to church planting as laid down by the
forefathers of the church.
He said that the overwhelming
zeal of the forefathers of the church for evangelism and church planting is
responsible for what today's generation is enjoying.
Pastor Yusuff noted this while
preaching on the topic "Challenges to God's Directive" at the
induction service of Pastor Gideon O. Oladokun as the 4th Superintendent of CAC
Itire Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC) at the weekend.
He said that as the people of Macedonia were calling on Apostle Paul to
come and save them, the same way
Nigerians are calling on CAC Worldwide to come and save the country.
"Majority of us in this
mission are too comfortable. We are no longer pursuing the Kingdom of God. We
are saving our monies in banks while souls are perishing. There is no passh ion
for church planting again. Even those who are planting churches these days are
turning it to their personal properties. The land in which CAC Ketu DCC was
built was donated to the Late Pastor
Olutimehin who gave it freely to the church. The land of the present General
Secretariat of CAC Worldwide in Ibadan, belonged to the first President of the
church, Pastor Isaac Akinyele, but he gave it freely to the church. Majority of
our ministers today are not toeing that line," the cleric stated.
According to him, it is high time
we woke up from our slumber and devoted our time to evangelism and church
planting.
He further stated that: "in
Akinyele Region each DCC, Zone and District is mandated to buy land and plant a
church on yearly basis. We don't need to be looking for millions of naira to
buy land. There are places in the rural areas where we can still get an acre of
land for less than a million naira. Before I retired, I have plan to buy a
piece of land in the name of CAC and build a befitting worship centre."
The Regional Superintendent urged
the newly inducted Itire DCC Superintendent, Pastor Oladokun to show more
interest in church planting, stating that Itire is well known as a planter
church.
